CE mark for PiCSO® system from Miracor for treating heart attacks

The PiCSO® system is a milestone for heart attack patients and was awarded the coveted EU CE mark for medical products a few days ago. Every minute counts during a heart attack. Procedures undertaken in the cardiac catheter laboratory, where minimally invasive examinations and interventions on the heart are performed, are extremely challenging. Reducing the size of the infarct is a major concern. With the latest generation PiCSO® Impulse Catheter and PiCSO® Impulse Console, Belgian company Miracor Medical SA has developed a user-friendly system that is associated with statistically significant infarct size reduction in patients with anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Market launch is planned for the second half of 2021.
